The SS and SS+ feature an all-new tread pattern consisting of a smoother, diamond pattern center with more aggressive side lugs. This tread pattern allows the rider to keep speed going into corners and maintain control throughout any transition a gravel ride could present. The GravelKing SS incorporates a supple 126 TPI casing with a nylon puncture resistant belt and Panaracer’s proprietary ZSG (Zero Slip Grip) compound. The SS+ uses the same build as the SS but adds a bead-to-bead layer of Panaracer’s ProTite puncture material for even more protection against tread and sidewall cuts for those extra demanding courses or rides with sharp flint rock. Both SS and SS+ tires will be available in black and brown sidewall options and in the following sizes: 700 x 28, 32, 35, 43c or 27.5 x 1.9 (650b x 48).

Great all road and gravel

I’ve been running gravel king SS+ for a few years, from 32’s to 43’s and everything in between and I think they’re great. They roll fast on and off road, are bullet proof and corner great.

flawed

After doing a lot of research looking for a good tire to ride a combination of tarmac and light gravel, I bought a pair of these tires in May of this year and had my bike shop set them up tubeless on my Trek Checkpoint SL5. However, BOTH tires failed within five months (they would no longer seal on the rim). The first tire failed while in the garage. The second tire (my front tire) failed while I was riding (20mph on tarmac), resulting in a serious accident. I take care of my bike and go through a pre-ride check before every ride, including checking air pressure and tire condition. Because of my experience, I would not recommend anyone ride these tires.

First time tubeless

I was not even prepared to feel the difference going tubeless makes. It's reignited my love for riding, it feels that good! I had no idea what suppleness felt like in a bicycle tire until just now, as I'm returning from my first tubeless ride ever on a brand new pair of 700 x 43c Graveling SS plus. The way the tires just kiss the road as if there are tiny little clouds underneath you, softly bouncing and effortlessly rolling along the city streets and even a few loose pack back backroads, which they did wonderful on. I wasn't out of the saddle on it by any means but I stayed on the pedals pretty much5he whole time. and I didn't slide or break traction for even a tiniest of a split second. From a dead stop the bike, a gen 4 Trek Dual Sport 2 rolling on Spinergy GXX gravel wheels, just takes off with such little effort now and so promptly it's ridiculous, I love these tires. I did have a little trouble mounting them tubeless, so I had to tube them for a couple days but when I retried it earlier they went on the first try for the front, 2nd try for the rear. The beads, though relatively easy to get all the way on the rim, wouldn't even think about seating when they were fresh on the rim, even with a compressor and an Airshot. Well worth the trouble though let me tell you, these tires feel excellent to ride on tubeless. With a tube they're alright, though I didn't think it was anything too write home about, but tubeless definitely worth it. Thanks Panaracer.

Unbound Tires

I mounted a pair of these tires in 700x35 for 2022 SBT Blue, and just finished 2023 Unbound 200 on the same pair, with quite a bit of gravel in the meantime. No punctures or flats and I would still be riding them today if my drivetrain wasn't trashed. These are now my go-to gravel tire and I already ordered the next pair (would've put the new ones on for Unbound but they didn't arrive in time). Great gravel tires with very little aerodynamic penalty and can hold up to whatever you throw at them.
